Operation - Fix 360

Ok, last couple of days I've been working on getting my 360 fixed. (please donate so that i can buy a new one lol i'm not sure if this will work).

as you can tell from these photos, its all apart and i'm slowing working on lapping the sinks. My next plans are when those sinks are like mirrors, is to get the gpu and cpu nice and clean, put on some silver compound and attach them. after that i'll start it up and see if that takes care of the problem. I hope it does.

After all that, i'll sand the case a little.. cut a window on one side, paint it a nice dark metallic blue and paint the control the same color. Its going to look great!

Hey there friend. Artic Silver 5 is the best compound to use for the heat sinks and the most frustrating part of getting it to work is to have the sinks apply the right amount of pressure on the GPU and CPU chips. I fixed mine by removing the X clamps and using washers to adjust the height of the sinks. After having it over heat, tighten up the sinks, let it cool, and hope that you have the right amount of pressure/contact. If no dice, you'll have to try again. It's all in the pressure. Later.
